Yes, I kicked around the need for a good upland piece for the August issue.

When in hell is bird season?


Nebraska? Colorado? Is it now all bird-shooting ranches, so to speak?


(For only the most sophisticated and monied bored-room sportsmen?)


What about a piece on hunting birds around the neighborhood with yer slingshot?


Now  that's a challenge.


Especially because those "regulars" as I call 'em,  those little gray birds that you see most often, those are the ones I shoot at. And they are phunkin diffikult to hit.
